Save 30%+ on your daily commute
Your employer has partnered with Extraordinary to offer you access to tax-free public transport. This page explains how it works, how to get started, and how you save by paying for eligible public transport before tax.

It's simple, pay for your public transport before tax, through salary sacrifice.
Normally, you pay for your bus, train or ferry fares out of your take-home pay, after your tax has already been taken out. With this benefit, a portion of your salary is set aside before tax to cover your public transport costs. Because that money is never taxed, you get every dollar and your money for your commute goes further. On a $50 weekly spend, that's about $31 out of your actual pocket, a 30%+ saving, automatically, every pay period.
Your pre-tax funds are instantly loaded onto your Extraordinary account and payment card, so you can start paying and saving on your public transport as soon as your first pre-tax funds are made available.

How the pre-tax public transport works
Choose your amount: Decide how much you want to request out of your pre tax income to go toward public transport each pay period. Simply fill in your election form through the link below select your requested amount. The minimum and maximum you can request to receive is $1 - $500 monthly.
Your pay will be adjusted: The amount you have requested will be deducted from your pre tax salary and you will pay less tax overall.
Spend on public transport: Use your Extraordinary card to tap on public transport or to top up your preferred public transport card.
Update or modify requested amounts: Change your election amount any time, or pause it altogether. It's your call, always.

You're three steps away from your first saving.
1. Make your election: Use the election form to choose how much you’d like to set aside each pay period, you can select any amount from $1 up to $500 a month, in $5 increments.
2. Confirm and start saving: Once processed by your employer it will reflect your tax-free savings. You will either see a line on your payslip stating the amount that is paid directly to Extraordinary or receive an email directly from extraordinary stating the amount that has been paid to your Extraordinary account.
3 . Download the app and access your card: Download the Extraordinary app from the App Store or Google Play. Complete your sign-up process, add the card to your wallet from within the app.
Note: You can update your election amount at any time. If you choose to stop your election, you won't be able to re-enrol for 12 months from the date you first started. An approach to avoid a long wait to re-enrol is to reduce your requested amount rather than opting out.
